About Bluebank Blueberry & Emu Farm
Bluebank Blueberry & Emu Farm sits in the Akatarawa Valley about 45 minutes from Wellington and under 10 minutes north of Upper Hutt city. Alongside pick-your-own blueberries, the farm keeps more than 90 emus and other animals such as alpacas and geese that visitors can view, and runs a shop selling pottery, blueberry fudge, ice cream, ice blocks and other locally made crafts and jewellery. Blueberry picking runs from January through to April each year, on weekends from midday to 4.30pm. Payment is accepted by cash, cheque, eftpos or card. There is plenty of off street parking, but dogs are not allowed on the property. Group visits can be arranged on weekdays, with morning or afternoon tea available by prior arrangement.
