About Windmill Orchard

Windmill Orchard is a pick-your-own apple and pear orchard on the Coatesville-Riverhead Highway at Coatesville, north west of Auckland. Visitors walk through the orchard picking their own fruit from the trees, with a minimum charge of five dollars per person and cash only accepted, as the orchard has no card facilities. Apples are available from February through to the end of May, and various pear varieties ripen in March. The orchard can get picked out during busy periods, so it asks visitors to contact it before travelling to check fruit is still available. Visitors should bring their own containers and wear enclosed shoes and sun protection, as the grass underfoot can be wet. Ready-picked fruit is also sold from the farm stall and at the monthly Coatesville Market.
